Frequently Asked Questions

Does Breezy Valley Storage reserve/hold units? Unfortunately, at this time we do not reserve/hold units. If you are looking to rent a unit on the first, you will need to do so on the first.

Why was I charged so much to get into the unit? Breezy Valley Storage charges first month's rent, a deposit in the amount of first month's rent and an admin fee. Your second month of rental will be prorated depending on the day you signed our rental agreement to move in.

When I signed up there was only an option to rent for '1 Month' can I rent for more than 1 Month? Breezy Valley Storage does our rentals on a 'month to month' basis, which is renewed/billed monthly, on the first, until a 10-day notice of departure is given.

What happens if I sign up for a storage unit and then don't end up needing it? If you have gone through the process and signed our contract you are still required to give a 10-day notice of departure to receive your deposit back. Failure to do so will result in loss of your deposit. We do understand that situations come up and are willing to refund the month's rent paid however the deposit and admin fee will be kept for loss of being able to rent said unit.

When packing to store your belongings at our facility please remember this is not a climate-controlled facility. What does this mean for you? Your belongings are subjected to the climate changes we have in Vermont. Tip - Store your belongings in plastic totes, if you are unable to do so make sure your belongings are not directly on the slab as it does sweat creating moister, wood pallets work well as a barrier.

Another thing to remember when packing - when water freezes it expands! If any of your belongings contain water (or any liquids) DO NOT store them at our facility, be aware that these are items that require climate-controlled storage and plan accordingly. Fluids and air expand and contract with changes in temperature.

When storing cars/motorcycles is it the renter's responsibility to protect the slab from any fluids that may leak from their vehicle. Laying down a barrier between the slab and any place fluids may leak from is suggested.

DO NOT store any type of food in your storage unit as this creates pests.

When storing mattress/couches/clothing etc. make sure to store properly! we suggest wrapping in plastic (mattress/couches) and totes for clothing/paper etc. We also suggest for these items to be lifted off the slab. Remember these are not sealed/climate control units. Units are subject to Pests if belongings are not stored properly.

The floors at our facility are solid concrete. In the winter they become very cold, much like the frozen ground outside. In the spring if warm moist air comes into contact with the frozen concrete condensation will form. This is why we suggest plastic totes when possible or using wood pallets to get belongings directly off the slab.
